One of the best and most popular entry level speaker cables has now been improved, along with other cables in the range the new Chord Clearway X speaker cable has had its insulator changed from PTFE to the new XPLE. As material technology is constantly developing and improving and alternatives to PTFE became available, another insulator – XLPE (Cross-linked Polyethylene) came to The Chord Company's attention. One particular version of this material proved to be clearly better than PTFE, so this is now used in the Clearway X speaker cable.
